Music rooted in tradition, open to new forms.
Stumari is a Georgian music group founded in Tbilisi in 2002. Rooted in Georgian polyphony and traditional music, the band combines ancient melodies and texts with original compositions, progressive ideas, classical influences, unusual rhythms, and contemporary arrangements.
With diverse instrumentation and a distinctive approach to arrangement, Stumari moves between Georgian musical heritage and modern musical expression, creating music that is both rooted in tradition and open to experimentation.
Over the years, the band has released several albums, including Rope Bridge, Dila, and 1227 Meters Above the Sea. Stumari continues to create and record new music at its own Author’s Studio in Georgia.
